Entrepreneur- the Successful Rebel

If you want to be a rebel make very sure you strive to be the best that you are being a rebel for.

A self confessed challenger of the status quo, Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Enterprises is, to me, an ultimate successful rebel. And even today, breaking with convention, banks are being brutalized in the British Isles, but Virgin is still doing exceptionally well. Ever wonder why he has stayed a billionaire for such a long time?

Jayne-Anne Gadhia, Executive Chairman of the Virgin Money group of companies about Richard Branson, “One of the key things I have learnt from Richard over the past 15 years or so is always challenge. Challenge your business to innovate by asking the unaskable, challenge industry norms and always ask, why? And then more importantly, why not?”

Let me put it this way, you are a rebel for a reason. Rebels go against something or all that has been established or is held by the majority of the public using that service as the number one thing to use.

It’s supposed to be a no brainer.

But then you come along and find you can’t abide by their rules or modus operandi. Maybe, you’ve found a far better way of doing that very same thing everyone holds as the status quo. So, you rebel. You want to do things your newly discovered way.

Right now, you have become that rebel. But you soon find almost no one will bother listening to you. Now, ask yourself this question. “Is it worth all the hassle that society will do to make you conform and strive for your own truth?”  Can you survive?

Or will you decide to go build it and show the world your way is best and who knows? This may become another discovery to you that you need entrepreneurship to make it into the big times.

One thing is extremely clear, you’ll need to find the strength without and without not to succumb. If you survive the rebelliousness, you may yet live. But then, you make break all conventions and come up trumps…err…billions of dollars or pounds sterling.
