What a spectacular show of wealth as you arrive at the world’s largest air terminal in Beijing, ready and built in record time for the Olympics.
On approach, it looks like a super dragon – about 2 kilometers long and just under a kilometer wide! And that fantastic design…Take a look at this video below.
Can Beijing handle the expected world travel surge during the Olympic Games of 2008? They’ve built the world’s largest air terminal – Terminal 3-A, 3-B, 3-C – totalling 1 million square meters of concrete and steel. It is actually designed to symbolize the mighty Super Dragon.
The design, the most advanced in the world, can handle more than 10,000 people per hour and has the largest indoor volume of any building in the world.
Compared to just a decade ago, China did get rich very quickly. They worked damn hard for their wealth for sure. And comparing their trade imbalances still vastly in their favour, this is a country that really earn money, but the hard way.
So swallow your avarice and take your hats off. Congratulations to China.
