Now that the economy is tanking and if you already feel the slap in the face that a pink slip can deliver…What are your options?
You can go back to school. But as what? A student or a teacher?
Now, please don’t roll over and play dead, baul your eyes out or simply get drunk. Well, ok you can go scream your lungs out for a few minutes but please get an action plan ready. When you do, you’ll be well prepared.
Prepared for what?
The idea is to come out on the other side of a bad economic spell in better shape than you are now.
Think very carefully about this next statement -
- Those that can’t do, Teach. Those that want it, Learn.
Now, what do you do? Find a great private school to teach you a specialized skill or professional qualification or something that can now be found in the public school system? Choosing between the prestige or the mundane really depends on the depth of your pocket and your long term plans.
But let me qualify that.
Unless you want a change of profession, or feel it is time, then by all means mentor the next generation.
One can never stop learning to always gain an edge for success. Knowledge, technology and growth never stops.
Regardless of your position, teacher or student, you should participate in the expansion of knowledge to be as prepared as you can be.
It’s another way of saying we should all be back at school everyday of our lives and also a teacher when we need to be – to never stop learning.
Bear in mind, this is just more food for thought. Please do your research well and plan your life path even better.
